What started as a tiny window on East 6th has grown into Austin’s heartbeat. We aren’t just a taquería; we’re a family table that’s been growing for over forty years.
The Heart of the Kitchen
Founded by Mama Elena and Papa Jorge, El Corazón began with a simple philosophy: "If you wouldn't serve it to your grandmother, don't serve it to a guest." Today, their grandchildren run the line, but Mama Elena still checks the salsa every morning.
We are known for our house margaritas, our lively patio that stays packed until the stars come out, and our tradition of naming specials after our regulars. "The Steve" taco has been on the menu since '94 because Steve showed up every Tuesday for a decade.
